Worthy: having worth or excellence.

Having worth or excellence is good character. The word worthy is used about fifty times in God’s Word. Jacob used it first by saying to Almighty God: "I am not worthy of the least of all thy lovingkindnesses." (Gen. 32:10). In the last book of the Bible Jesus prophesies of certain church members: "That did not defile their garments: and they shall walk with me in white, FOR THEY ARE WORTHY (Rev. 3:4).

In 1 Sam. 26:16, some men are told, that they are worthy of death. In Jo. 6:40, is revealed, "That every one that beholdeth the Son, and believeth on him, should have eternal life." Why can this be done for unworthy human beings? Because Jesus Christ himself, as God, became a human being, and lived a complete worthy human life, then gave that worthy human life as God, to die, in the place of every human being, who would believe that he died their death, to give them eternal life. Every person who believes this fact from his heart, becomes worthy of eternal life, by receiving the worthiness of Jesus Christ, personally transfered to him by the power of the Holy Spirit. Oh, yes, it is a grand glorious mystery; and we are only commanded to believe it, not to understand it, to become worthy of eternal life. Personally, right here, I will bear witness for God, in the presence of any sinner, as I use to be, If they will believe what Christ Jesus has done for each one personally, then each one will become worthy of eternal LIFE, and will receive it.

Jesus Christ is worthy before God, to save any sinner who will believe in HIM, for he, himself is God. No faith of any sinner is big enough to save any sinner but himself. I am glad that my worthiness in Jesus Christ is not transferable, but that eternal LIFE, is a personal matter between every sinner and the Lord Jesus Christ. He is waiting.
