STEAD.

------------
Stead means a place which an other had. As far as revealed, God will not remove man,
and create an other race of beings to live in his stead. The material universe was created
for man, but when God created the angels it is not known that He created a spiritual
universe for them, but it is a probability, for it is revealed that God prepared a place
for the devil and his angels, did not create it; hence that part of their universe, was
changed into hell, by their sin. Man, by sin, made his universe an annex of hell, but God
came and took the place of man, and in his stead, made it an annex of heaven; made
possible because man could die, and his universe be purified into a new creation, and man
into a new creation, all because he believed. Christ stood in his stead before God and
died as the punishment for sin, Satan and his angels being spirits, not mortal, no one
could stand in their stead, inocent, and die their death to redeem them.
In Heb. 2:9, Christ, it is revealed, tasted death for every man; but unless the man
excepts Christ to die in his stead, before God, it is a question, whether Christ died for
him or not. Christ Jesus, never lost a victory, or did a vain thing. In Job 34:24, and in
Matt. 3:9, is taught that where God is rejected, other men are raised up to come before
God, in their stead. When a sinner is saved, by excepting Christ to die for him, he knows
not how many sinners had stood in that place and rejected Christ, and that God had raised
him up to come before Him, in their stead. God had rather save a sinner, Is 4522[?], than
raise up an other to take his place. Suffer no one to take thy crown. Rev. 3:11.
