A MOMENT

Moment: the smallest possible portion of time. A second is 1/60 of a minute hence a
moment is smaller than that. No human mind can segregate two moments for they are gone
before it can be done. Any thing quicker than the twinkle of an eye is too fast for the
mind of man to separate. To think three moments requires more than three moments of time
to think them.
A moment, a second, are terms more carelessly used perhaps, than any in the English
language. They are innocent necessary words but literally are used in lying by truthful
people more than any other two words. No one can do anything in a moment of time and very
few in a second.
Used in a relative sense the destiny of every life is settled in a moment when it comes
to the point of decision. The spirit of man is quicker than his mind and when his spirit
sees God it believes in the Lord Jesus Christ as its Savior in the twinkle of an eye. It
was thus with me. It was done so quick I had to look back on it to see it though it was
all around me and has been all these 67 years. In all the vicissitudes of life it has been
and is in and around me though it began with me in a moment of time to go with me forever.
"Thanks be to God, who giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ."
"And inasmuch as it is appointed unto men once to die", and when that comes
for me to pass out of my body (2 Pe. 1:14), it will be done in a moment of time though the
hours may be long or short to reach that point.
And when the bodies of the children of God have slept their sleep, they shall be
changed", in a moment in the twinkling of an eye. We are saved in a moment die and
enter heaven in a moment and then clothed with our glorified bodies in a moment.
