Dear pastor:- In reviewing the shorthand report of our meeting at Providence third day of last April, I want to tell you the glad surprise our church gave me. In planning that day, primarily for my 24 churches I had been pastor of, I did not expect much from our church, knowing the constant demands made on it for money and that I should not add to its burden. You can imagine how delighted I was to find that our Church invested over $75. in Kingdom work that day.

Last spring you remember I wrote you about Perseverance Church. Now they write me that they are working as a Church, and have had two baptism. They asked that I preach two sermons for them third Sunday in next Month, with dinner on ground, but I had already promised Brooker to do that for them; and yesterday I got the same request from Sardis Church. Have you ever heard of such a coincident: To preach six sermons, in three churches, with three public dinners in one day?

Last July I sent a string of appointments through Walker, and Catoosa County Georgia, and one for Chattanooga, Tennessee, for three Week days and nights. Broadus my son, came by and we were there on schedule time. He had a time of his life among his kin; and I had another time of my life preaching seven times in three days and nights. One night I preached in a church, my Father organized in 1849; and preached there last, 80 years ago. I can just remember seeing him in the pulpit. I preached in one valley where I lived when I was Fifteen years old. Only one person left of that day, and she bedridden. How extraordinary the good Lord has blessed me up here in old age. I try to keep so busy for our wonderful Saviour, death can’t catch me a cumberer of the ground.

For me, I have news of sorrow to tell you. This Winter, no door is open for us in Gainsville, hence, we shall live in Mayo Florida the coming Winter. As my custom is to join the Baptist Church when I move into new territory, so please send our church letter. Love for you.
