MARRIAGE
By G. W. S. Ware
April, 1937
---------------

Marriage is one man and one woman becoming one flesh before God until broken by death or adultery. Death, when sent of God, gives an honorable discharge from marriage; but adultery, caused by the Devil, transforms the one sacred body of marriage of a man and one woman into two separate human demons, out to break other marriages to spread the power of Satan.

Here comes a young man of God, who has many of them in the world. He is about himself like his Maker was about Adam, before He made Eve for him--not good to be alone. He finds that God will give him, or else he can drift along, and the Devil mate him off for hell. Here comes a young woman. Her future is word-painted in the last chapter of Proverbs. Like a good wife, a good husband is also from the Lord; so she asks one for herself. Those two young people were so reported in the spiritual world. No marvel, then, that two who had known each other all their lives saw each other the first time the next Sunday and were soon married, built themselves a family altar, and worshipped God at home and in Christ’s church. Now, come with me over the horizon and stay forty years. Here we are again. There they are and theirs. Ask them what they have put in heaven. Yes, I see something that will go as a blessing to a thousand generations of their descendants (Deu. 7:9). Literally, a thousand generations is around 30,000 years; spiritually, it is forever.

Spirits, Good or bad, are sexless; hence, marriage is unknown among them; each is a direct creation of God, for they cannot multiply themselves, either in marriage by order of God or out of marriage by order of Satan. All the hue and tirade against marriage comes from the Devil to increase his servants on earth and to share his punishment through eternity. Heb. 13:4.
