Hungry, As I use it in this article, it means eagerly desirous.
To be eargerly desirous for food after an interval of time, is the natural result of
animal life. Man’s body when denied food a certain limit, begins to feed on itsself;
and when it consumes itsself it dies for lack of food. The young manhood body of Jesus
Christ, fed on itsself 40 days and nights; and when His body had no food from any source,
and was at death from starvation, the Devil told Him how to save His life, which Jesus
refused to do, and told Satan that man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of
God, Jesus by so doing, angels brought Him food for His body.
All the young people of my generation who were hungry for knowledge, got it, school or
no school. It is a law of nature for a person to get what he is mentally hungry for, for
his mind will give him no rest till he feeds it what it wants; and when the mind is fed it
has more life to get hungry again. Can a man starve his mind to death? Their names are
legions, for every person has a mind alive to God, and dead to Satan, or the reverse is
true.
The most dangerous thing to be hungry for is sin–any sin, regardless how harmless
it appears, or how the elite of mankind practice it. What the world deems the harmless
sins of society, are the hot beds of Satan, to transplant into eternal punishment.
When young people, men and women, remove the restraint God has placed on sex, move it
out of marriage; and run riot in sex pleasure, it destroys the sanctity of marriage when
it comes to fruition. Such sex hunger, is the main decoy of Satan, to fill his prison with
human beings.
The only superlative state to be hungry in for man, is so essential to his eternal
happiness, Christ uses two intense words to describe it, hunger and thirst combined (Matt.
5:6). Suffer these.
