Up to my tenth year I saw negro human beings, who were slaves. They had no freedom of
their own will, with out permission from the white man who owned them. In Catoosa County
Georgia, where I was in boyhood, there were only a few slaves. One deacon of Ebenezer
Baptist church, owned a negro man and woman. They worked hard, while the deacon, lolled
around. The Presbyterian pastor, who owned a fertile farm, also owned two slaves, a man
and a woman, who made their living; while their owner preached on predestination, infant
baptism, church goverment by presbytery, freedom in Christ and salvation by Grace which
was pure. Negroes, themselves would capture each other in Africa, sell each other to the
white man for slaves; and the practice went on, till God used the white man to free them.
Freedom, is the rarest jewel on earth. No human eye can see it, or finger touch it.
Only three human being ever had it, two men and one woman. I was not permitted to live on
the earth, when they did. The two men were not here at the same time, thousands of years
divided them. The woman who had freedom and the man who had were allowed to be together.
They had all the freedom of the universe of God; but to get freedom to sin against God,
like the Devil had, they reached out and lost their freedom, and became slaves of the
Devil. After Satan had played havoc with the human family, as his slaves to carry out his
will to sin against God, for thousands of years; the other human being, who had freedom,
came upon the earth. He was God, with flesh and blood, for He was a human being. Read
about Him in the New Testament, believe in Him, and He will make you free indeed.
Made free this way, man enteres a vast universe of God, full of opportunities to do for
God, and himself. He is admitted as a coworker with God. I am free to love God; free to
hate sin and Satan; free to repent and have my spiritual nature recreated into the nature
of God; free to over come my self, the world and the Devil, by the blood of Jesus Christ;
free, to be the brother of the Lord Jesus Christ; free, to have my name written in the
Book of Life, in Heaven; free to have the Angels of God, to minister unto me; free, to
make myself go to church and prayer, when I do not want to go; free to live, and work for
God in old age; free to enter through the gate into the City of God; free to see the Lord
Jesus Christ, whom I have loved so long.
