FEAR.

------------

Fear, means: dread of some thing; Fear of God means, reverence for Him.

To fear to do wrong, is a good trait of character. To fear to lose self respect, the respect of others, and above all, the respect of God, is a bulwark against Satan.

It is a mighty help to any person, to take enough of time, every now and then, to go off alone, climb the hightest ridge of mentality in his mind, sit down, then have his spirit, to bring up its hightest top of spirituality, it has; put his right hand on one, his left hand on the other, with his feet between them; then look a long time on past generations of men and women, clear back to their creation; look a long time; then draw in your gaze, rest your eyes, then sweep up and down the line; then ask: Should I fear to commit any SIN? A thin line would step out to the right, raise their hands toward Heaven, and answer: look, see our redeemed spirits, saved from our sins. And you, vast multitudes of sinners, Should I fear to commit any SIN? Then a mighty volume of sound, as from the sepulchral dead, would answer: Lift the cover of Hell, look down and you will see our answer.

No one should fear old age, for it is one of the promises of God, who will it a blessing, to those who are permitted to experience it. Old age in sin, has fears about it, enough to appal the life of any, headed that way.

No use to fear the Devil, if you will ask God to free you from him, and not go back into his sins, he holds out to you; for God tell you, if you resist Satan, he will flee from you.

"The wicked flee (through fear) when no man pursueth, but the righteous are bold as a lion." Prov. 28:1.
