To day, in Atlanta, Georgia, I saw the largest number of Baptist together, the world has seen up to present time. I think that 40000 is a conservative estimate of their number to day, in that convention. One hundred years ago, our number was so few, the world hardly knew we were in it. Now, it seems, that all people of the world set their attention on the Baptist, and wonder at their number.

About 100 years ago, the Baptist of America divided about sending the Gospel of Jesus Christ to their fellow men in other nations. In Atlanta their fellow christians from these nations, as coworkers in the Kingdom of God on earth were there. I believed in, and supported Missions all my life, from my youth up to old age, and am still at it; but it never entered my mind, that I would see men and women, fellow children of God, coming from these Nations, to a world’s Convention of Baptist. But to day I looked upon them, and heard some of them speak for the Lord Jesus Christ, the Saviour of sinners every where of all who will hear of Him, and then believe in Him.

If my Anti-Missionary brethren, could see what I saw to day, and continue to oppose Missions, I would think: "How can they doubt the evidence God has placed before their eyes; and hear the christian experience, which would admit them into their churches, as candidates for their baptism.

In describing this Baptist Alliance from all over the World, I thought the best way, would be to past News Paper clippings, on as many of the Following pages as necessary.

That to day was the largest congregation I ever saw. It required the Baptist of the whole world, and five years of preparation to bring it to pass. When I joined in with that vast congregation of people from everwhere to sing: All hail the power of Jesus name, how thrilling it was.
