Adventure: An event the issue of which is determined by chance.
No day during our earthly life is precisely alike any other day. Some of them, or all
of them may seem alike, but no two of them, will match. No one has a day just like
another. No one has life as a whole, just like some other person. Each day for every
person is diferent from each other; and each human life is different, in some way, from
the life of any other person. As God gives such a wonderful life to all who have a life,
and freedom of will, to use for, or against God, how determined every person should be, to
give every particle of its manifold variety to God. No wonder, God says: "My son,
give me thy heart; and let thine eyes delight in my ways. (Prov. 23:26.) What infinite
variety of glory and honor, would show forth for God, when it is finished on earth. Such a
life lived on earth is lived with the earthly life of Jesus Christ, who lived it, and will
give it to every person who will take it by trusting in it. Hear the Lord speak again:
"Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life (Prov.
4:23)." Out of it comes the varieties of life, for the glory of God; or else,
multiplied forms of variety of degradation of the shame and punishment, such a sinful life
brings on such a person.
This knowledge to any person, should be an irresistible impulse, to give such a life
with such possibilities to God. If a person fails to do this from any cause, it would be
far better for such a person, not to have lived on the earth.
Jesus Christ is the same in all ages to save such a life for any sinner, who will turn
to him, to save him from serving his life, in all of its variety, in the broad road to
death.
